Thursday when I was vacuuming the plugs on both my Electrolux and Royal Power Tank were very warm to the touch. It wasn't the actual plug but the prongs on the plug that were warm. The Royal has a new plug on it which I installed myself.

I know this subject has been discussed before, but I don't remember what the suggestions were.

The most likely 2 causes..

Hi Jim

It sounds like either the contacts in the socket/outlet are worn/corroded or the plug was only partly inserted?

The house is very old, and I believe some of the sockets are very old as well. I would say that about 80% of sockets won't take a 3 prong cord without using an adapter. I have been replacing outlets a few at a time, which is not my favorite thing to do.

Cleaning Motors

The motor on the Electrolux Olympia One was cleaned about 5 or 6 years ago after I first bought it. The Royal power tank has never been cleaned. I did take the Electrolux AE apart and blow the motor out with my compressor. What all is done when cleaning a motor?
