Hey guys. I am going to post pictures of my collection. It's been a while since I've done it and I've gotten an few "new" machine since the last time I did. I don't have a real digital camera, so the pics are bad quality... my cell phone is my only camera.

First up, Kirby corner... Just finished polishing the DS80 and G5. Of course the G5 came out better because it is so much newer. If I had to get rid of all my vacuums but one, I would keep the G5 over ANY of the others, without even hesitating. I've hand polished the Heritage two before, but it's my least favorite of the 3 Kirbys I have so it's really on the back burner! I use it about once a year, but keep it since it's a machine from my childhood. My childhood babysitter and the church I was raised in both had a Heritage... the church had the Heritage (1) with red bag, and the babysitter had the 2 before getting a G3. I have no accessories for the Dual Sanitronic 80, I have all attachments, shampooer, and fluffer/buffer for the Heritage 2, and attachments, but no shampooer for the G5... but I have a G4 shampooer that was given to me that fits the G5 just fine. Just doesn't match.
The back left wheel of the DS80 is cracked, but it still works.

Next up is the Hoover Corner. My favorite is the Concept 1... it was the first member of my collection. It's loud, but I really like it. From the power drive, to the soft back mounted easy change bag, to the two speed motor and dual handle release pedals... I *really* love that vacuum. I feel neutral about the Convertible... I had a burgundy one that had a headlight that I loved, but I shattered the fan years ago and threw it away. I'd get rid of this one if I could find one with a headlight and an original bag that I liked... I really like the big lights on Convertibles. I prefer the 80's plastic Convertibles over the older metal C bag style kind for some reason. The 28 is in terrible shape and I'm only keeping it because I want to have something "old". I think it's beyond the point of restoration. Runs great though... I wish I could use it!

Next is my only Hoover Steam Vac. A very cheap model that I got at Big Lots a few years ago. It doesn't work great (it works how it should, but it wasn't good even when new, just not powerful, and VERY loud), but it sure is cute in a weird way.

Next up is a few different things. The old Electrolux upright (haven't turned it on in years, and the back wheel broke in half during a move... moves are terrible on vacuums). The Electrolux Diamond Jubilee. I like it OK, but the power nozzle sure whines! The Kenmore Iridium... a bagless canister that was made by LG. I don't use it much because I got it from my ex... bad memories (I told him to get one for himself, as they just been out a year and he insisted on a bagless canister for his all bare floor house, and he accidentally won two on Ebay, so I bought the extra from him)... but it's not a bad machine. I like the quick release power nozzle, and the nice stiff chevron brush roll. But, the attachments are terrible, and I don't like gas pump style handles either. I also don't like the buttons on the handle on a canister... especially electronic buttons. Every time I use it, I accidentally turn the silly thing off! The Oreck is a pretty recent addition. Bought a new brushroll for it. It's loud and not powerful, but I like having at least one machine with a front mounted bag. The bumper guard is not original, I think the original was white, but the previous owner used this in a cleaning business and replaced the bumper.

Next is Eurekas and Sanitaire. I like the Sanitaire SC887 best of all. The S/P ESP doesn't run right, but my friend Matt is going to look at that for me when we have our mini meet some time in the near future :o)

Next is the Dyson DC14. My least favorite Dyson of all (but I got an OK deal on it considering that it took me 3 months to get rid of the dog smell and the clutch clicks every time I use it!)... I hate the DC 14 because it uses that stupid clutch system, the attachment handle isn't comfortable (I preferred the one on the DC07 that you flipped around, much better, and I liked the trigger release dirt cup better too), and the wand isn't long enough, especially to use the bare floor tool with. Plus, the stupid attachments on top of the dirt bin fall off when I empty the canister or transport the machine. And, the telescopic wand is dreadful to interact with. I hope this one dies so I can get a DC07 or DC17 (no clutch on this one)... or the self propelled one I've heard rumors about and hope they make.

I use it when I'm picking up stuff I don't want to smell up a vacuum bag or when I want attachments. Attachments are decent quality and pretty easy to use.

Next is Royals and Broom Vac (made by the same company). I like the 801 because of how quiet it is. I REALLY LOVE the Broom Vac. There's just something about it. It is reminiscent of older vacuums, it was new when I was in elementary school and my best friend's mom had one but I never got to use it. I just like it in a way I can't describe, and I smile every time I use it. It is the perfect size for my 1 bedroom apartment, and I am sooooo glad I found this at the Good Will last last year! :o)

Vorwerk, Swivel Sweeper, 3M Rubber Bladed Sweeper, Rainbow attachments...

I like how quiet the Vorwerk is and the swivel neck is great too. No attachments for it though :o(

This is my Canister grave yard.

The Rainbow D4 barely runs and the power nozzle has the wrong cord. The Filter Queen runs fine, but is in terrible cosmetic shape. That metal lining is coming off the dirt bin and I can't make it stay flat!

The Rainbow SE series is missing the wheels thanks to some previous roomates who threw them away a few years ago.

The Celebrity which I loved has a broken power nozzle as does the Kenmore Canister. If anyone has any of these parts let me know... maybe I can get some of the vacs out of the morgue!

This is the Miele vac that I got for 15 bucks at the beginning of the year. It's quiet, powerful, and a joy to use. I don't like the exposed power nozzle wire, but really it's a great vacuum.

Last... the Hoover Constellation. I don't love it, but it works and was given to me for free. The wands are stuck together and the cord is brittle. But, what would a vac collection be without a Connie. I may get a new (modern )one some day and throw this one in the trash.

So... those are (almost) all my vacs. I was given two hand vacuums by a fellow collector several months ago (a Singer and an Apex) as well, but I don't use them, they are just for "decoration".

I had a Singer A frame that I was going to trade with Kyle... then I decided to give it to him, then I broke it before I was able to and asked if he still wanted it... when I didn't get a response I just threw it in the garbage. It was loud, hard to find belts for, and I accidentally dropped my Gazelle exercise machine it and broke the motor hood (which already stripped threads in the screw holes)... it was destined for the trash... Within the last year or so, I've added the Dyson, Oreck, Broom Vac, and Miele... I was running out of room in my 1 bedroom apartment and just had to get rid of SOMETHING.

So, what do ya think I'm missing? I know a collection is different for everyone, and they are always evolving and never complete... I think that a Fairfax and a Tri-star canister would be nice things to have. Maybe a Bison. And a Sanyo Transformax (power nozzle kind, not straight suction)... but my main focus right now is getting the machines I have already in better shape, not getting more, unless a great deal comes my way. I'm not big on canisters, especially straight suction ones... they must have a power nozzle for me to love them. I prefer uprights with ballooning soft bags, and have a "thing" for self-propelled machines.

Thanks for looking and for being my vacuum friends :o)
