So, my friend at the Kirby Service center has a *STUNNING* Singer model R1 (I think that's the model), I could point it out if I saw pictures of it. Anyway, he's open to the idea of doing a trade for it, my Hoover model 700 for his Singer.

Do you guys think I should do it? The Singer is all original down to the light bulb, and it's a "minter". My 700 is a "diamond in the rough" right now, but I can go through the motor, find a new bag and bumper, paint the orange bits, and polish it.

I'm doing "The Great Big Vacuum Haul" on February 28th, I'm getting about 6 more of these pre-war "coffee can motor" Hoover's, so maybe I can offer him something else?

Please let me know if I should trade! I'll make sure to get pics of the Singer next time I go.

-Alex

Go For It!

If the 700 is what he wants and the Singer is what you want, and it sounds like you're willing to clean up the 700 a bit for the trade, it sounds fair to me.
