Back in November I ran across a Hoover Commercial upright vacuum in the Elite version. It cost only $9.00!!!! It worked fine but the brush roll was in horrible shape. Since today is a holiday from school, I slept in (I have a cold) then decided today would be a good day to work on my vacs. Pix to follow.

Marty

Hair....down there

What is it about Elites that cause hair to collect around the motor?

Finally!

Got all the hair off the bushroll and found nice green bristles!

To one of my friend's out there (you know who you are!) this hoover has a 50ft orange cord in great shape. It also has a grounded plug. This vacuum originally had one of those attachment/hose carriers that fit along the back of the handle but seeing how the hose was missing, I left it off. The vacuum looks better without it anyway.

Uggg. It kinda looks like someone was using it in a hair salon or something you think? . My Kirby Omega was used by a barber and while the brushroll was nothing like that the shake-out bag was 3/4 full of a human hair ball. Not pretty.

And in other news tonight, an embarrassed Donald Trump is seen wearing a balaclava...

Great job. Funny, I just finished putting back together a Hoover Elite. This one had a shattered fan. Seems to be working well now, but, wow I fogot how loud these machines are. It also had that same clump of hair on the motor air intake, they all seem to get it.

Usually love fur...

...but that is TOO MUCH! Wild, isnt it Marty? Those motors must generate some major cooling-fan airflow.

Could you compare the noise level of this machine to another Hoover, Marty? Seven amps, right? And good idea leaving the tool holder off.

Thanks for the pics!

Noise

Hi David! The vacuum is actually 5.5 amps. I've been down with a cold so I stayed in bed on Wednesday and bought things online. LOL! Among other things, I bought a Hoover Guardsman Commercial Upright. I wanted a new Convertible style vacuum before they disappear (you never know) plus I was reading on another thread, I think the one with Philip's sister wanting a Hoover like she had 30 years ago but a new one, and someone brought up the Guardsman. I've been obsessing ever since LOL! It is supposedly 6 amps. It will be interesting to compare the noise level of the two vacuums. I'll take pix of the Guardsman when it gets here.

Pete, The first thing I thought of was this vacuum was in a salon! Hence, it was tossed because it "wasn't working right." My barber has a Hoover Flair stick vac that he says he has never had a problem with. "Works just fine!" He is "like us" so I imagine he takes care of good care of it and makes sure it it emptied frequently.

Marty,

You have enough hair built up in that elite that if you collected it all you could send it out and have a nice wig made of it.
