Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday. I was selfish this year and bought myself a fancy new vacuum. I've only had the Sebo for about 2 weeks, but I really like it. It does a fantastic job and it's very well made! It's also really quiet, which is always a plus. It's probably one of the most versatile uprights I have. I bought the Classic model (my personal favorite Felix). It's so cute! Here are some pics!

Here it is with the parquet brush. It's a really nice floor tool. The teeth in the front row of soft (self-adjusting!) brushes were too small and wouldn't let the big dirt in. Well a friend told me to take the front row out, and it completely solved the problem. It does just as well on bare floors as any other good floor tool. Even with the front row gone, the parquet brush doesn't scratch the bare floors. It's very gentle. The neck also swivels, and the vacuum lays really flat, so it can easily get around and under furniture.

Tool mode...

The Felix is also a great portable vacuum. It's very easy and fun to go around the house with the Felix and dust or do edging. This setup is also great for stairs. The handle pushes down, and you can leave the powerhead off the Sebo, which makes it significantly lighter. Prolly the most disappointing thing about the Felix is the optional dusting brush. It's just very awkward to use, and you cant get it into corners without scratching the tool. The brushes are also very stiff, so I cant use it to dust every surface. Since the brushes don't fan outward, they get sucked in when you turn the vacuum on. The optional wand, on the other hand, is awesome, and I wish I would've bought another. The big side carrying handle is comfortable, and the hose even swivels at the end where it meets the machine (most uprights offer no swivel on either end of the hose). For an upright it's amazing to me just how thoroughly this one machine can seriously clean a house.

They thought of EVERYTHING!

When you lean the machine up against a wall, there's a little rubber button on the end of the handle. It doesn't scratch anything, and the rubber kinda grips whatever it's leaned against. I've yet to have it fall!

Cleaning off the brushroll is easy since it pulls right out of the powerhead (no tools required). I haven't seen any hair get into the brush bearings (awesome). It appears to be very well made!

Can you post a pic that shows the inner bag and assembly? Thanks! Cool looking vac too!

The Bag and Filters

henrydreyfuss's profile picture
One thing I really like about the felix is how you don't have to take off the cord, or pull out the hose in order to get to the bag. Nicely designed.

I want one! I hope you like yours!

The bag....

henrydreyfuss's profile picture
...is kinda on the smaller side, but the dirt in it gets really packed down. The bag is getting pretty heavy. I've used it pretty hardcore on some serious cleaning the past two weeks (my house, friend's houses...one day I took it to work), and the bag is only about 2/3 full. As you can see the bag can be sealed up, so it's very easy and clean to change. The bag has to be set in just right or the lid won't close. It's very easy to install bags.

The exhaust filter is really cool. It's huge! There are two bands that hold the filter on (at the top and bottom). They can be removed easily, and then the filter can be peeled off from the back.

Here's the Sebo without the exhaust filter. The bands and filter are on the floor. Hehe this is prolly Sebo Felix picture overkill, but it's so unique!

Very very cool vacuum, Corey.

The evident build quality looks outstanding. I love that European attention to both style and function.

Very Clever!

I always thought it had a cloth outer bag. So that's the exhaust filter! Thanks again for all the great pics!

I was wrong, Corey. That agitator is just as you described. That machine is beautiful, and one of the very few select contemporary models i would like to have myself.

Also...

...the bag looks a bit bigger than an Electrolux cylinder bag. Very respectable. And a true top fill design as well.

I had the Felix Premium Navy...

...which I bought at the end of 2007. I sold it mid-2008. It was a great cleaner, but it was surplus to requirements since I also had a Sebo X1 at the time, which had a bigger bag. My other small complaint about it was that the motor generated so much heat, I had to open all the windows each time I used it - it was like pushing around a fan-heater!

I think it's strange Sebo don't supply the dusting brush as standard - I think it should be standard equipment for a machine of this price and quality. I've just bought a Sebo K1 Komfort canister, and that doesn't come with one either.

I do prefer the manual height setting on the Felix to the automatic one on the X-series. The automatic levelling never sets the brush as low as I'd like it to, and with the Felix, you can get round that!

In all, it's a great cleaner, and it was only a couple of minor complaints which led me to sell mine. The sale was also motivated by my ongoing quest for space! I'm sure you'll be very happy with it - Which? Magazine (our version of Consumer Reporter) rated it very highly, and I found it to have excellent performance on most surfaces.

Hey :)

Congratulations on your Sebo purchase. IMO, Sebo are the best upright vacuum on the market under £300. You can't fault them. I have a Sebo x4 Extra with the dusting brush and super dooper long extension house as my house is quite large but I do like the felix range. Great for houses with loads of floor types.

Thanks Everyone for your comments!

Vintagehoover: Yes I completely agree that the dusting brush should come standard. It should also at least come with one wand. That wand makes the tool use soooo much easier.

The exhaust air of the vac is warm, but it hasn't bothered me yet. I like how the exhaust flows out evenly over the huge outer filter, instead of a concentrated jet like most new clean-air vacs. When you turn it on the filter even puffs out a little (kinda like an old Regina stick-vac).

I am very happy with the vacuum. I have almost no experience with Sebos (they're pretty much non-existent around here). I am very impressed with the Felix!
