Couldn't believe finding this near new and in fantastic condition Kenmore canister the other day at the Sally Ann for a mere $12. I think Sears is still selling this Elegance model, came with the PowerMate Jr attachment too. Has cord rewind, remote on handle and quick release power nozzle

this is one of the best canisters

In my opinion Kenmores are one of the best canisters built today,I have opened up several and found the motors are of high quality and are one of the nicest machines to clean with. My favorite's are the whispertone's built in the late nineties.

I have one from the 80s and another from the early to mid 90s I love the one from the 90s it is really fun to use and the motor in it is made of fantastic quality. however when I found the machine it only came with the power head and one tool. two years ago I was cleaning out a house and tools for a kenmore happened to be in the back room of this house. so I asked the owner if i could have them and sure enough I had a complete kenmore again.

Since this one is fairly new the hose is still in good condition, those 90's models had very thin hoses that tore or split just by looking at them.. the only real fault of them.

my hose is in terrible shape however I did find a brand new hose with power control at the local dump and off to home it went. I cut the middle plug out of it and voila it works beautifully. I love that I have the option to turn the power nozzle on and off. also I went to the sears parts store and did buy an original hose NOS and the quality is much better than the old one

Pete, what a great vacuum and at a great price. I am sure you are going to enjoy using this one.

Pete, that's the same style type green Whispertone I have, that was restored with donor hose & parts from a purple one. Two switch positions, one turns on the PN and the other the headlight. Well, my white Kenmore PN is from an earlier time but was the only way to utilize the 3 pin wand connector sockets & snap in fittings. Both came from the curbside but there was no green PN.

Too bad I couldn't zip up to Sarnia on the way home Sunday but the encroaching weather wouldn't permit. This morning there's an additional 1.5 feet of fresh snow obliterating the snow blowing I did last night. LOL
