Well here is my newest find. I also got the box, manual, and the leaflet on how to put it together. The photo uploader isnt working so visit my photobucket.
Ooh a model 63? Thats a nice one to have. From back when Hoover was first class. This machine was featured in Joan Crawford's "Female on the Beach" and was the first Hoover to use what would become the notorious "C" bag. Quiet-running, powerful and heavyweight!
The Hoover 63 is just a great vacuum all the way around, and you found one with t the original bag. Not too hard to find, but many of them frayed, and were replaced by later vinyl options thru Hoover, and bojack parts makers.
It has a distinct sound, and you'll be hard pressed to find another machine from the same time frame that cleaned as well as it did.
The Thermax is great, and SO different from the old style that literally was a coffeetable in size. This one seems more space efficient, but still quite large for a caniste design. Thankfully they still have that 15 ft. long hose to make cleaning less troublesome.
I see that they private labled a late mdoel Hoover powerhead for it's agitator system. Not a bad head by any means, and uses the standard Elite Brushroller. Thankfully if it has the plastic Hoover Roller, you can if you wish to get the nicer CWP wood roller. It has sealed ball bearings, and you dont have to ever worry about the plastic ends melting or seizing up.
