Hey Cody! I was just curious if your Fairfax has the outlet for the power nozzle on it, and if so, would you be willing to sell it, even without a hose or tools. Just let me know. Later, Trg |

This Canadian (Apollo Vacuum Corp, 813 Brock Rd, Unit 3&4, Pickering, Ontario) Manual has a Date of Purchase for May 11, 1985. The debris bucket is now white plastic. I'm not sure if the white caster base is painted metal or plastic also. Spelling correction, my typo - it's not Fax-O, it's Fax-a-matic. Now then, for we Lovers of Trivia: I have two manuals for the all chrome/non PN Fairfax's that have two different addresses for Fairfax Industries International, Inc. Purchase dated June 22 1976, Fairfax Industries was located at 155 Weldon Parkway, Suite 110, Maryland Heights, Missouri 63043 Purchase dated February 12 1975, Fairfax offices are listed at 5511 14th St,N.W., Washington, DC 20011 Both have a Canadian address as simply Box 114, Welland, Ontario. Would that be Switson, Doug? I guess then that my PN equipped all chrome Fairfax with the clip on cord dates before 1985 and after 1976. Dave |

Does a Fairfax use a similar dirt catching system as the Filter Queen? Also, are they still made? I've never seen one personally but the pictures make them look quite large. |

Fairfax actually had 3 different powernozzles with the early machines. The first was an all metal (chrome) powerhead (I cant remember the makers name but they were also used on Airway, Royal and Regina). The second was the Hoover PN and the third the Eureka PN. The dates I have for the vacuums in my collection are 1983 for the one with the Hoover PN and 1986 for the one with the Eureka PN so I would imagine the first PN would have been out around 1979 - 1981. Hey Pete - nope - didnt go to me - I already had the same one. Hey Dave - not 100% sure but Switson industries would be a very good guess as they made the Canadian machines for alot of other companies (Even Kirby at one time). "free trade" destroyed alot of companys like that. Doug |

Now I understand how a Fairfax works! That was a thorough but not thoroughly long explanation. I wonder if the suction was improved with the metal snout and filter bag? Roger (a transplanted Yooper!) |

I had an experience where I won the bid on a beautiful fairfax, just like the one pictured above...including all the attachments, and accessories. I never did recieve the vac. The seller posted that he would not be selling any more on ebay due to family matters. Hmmmmm. Very interesting. |
