Hi Tommy, Wow that looks straight out the box, was it found in Italy or have you had it shipped with ebay??

These machines just roar along and that large bag is FAB!!!

Enjoy, Mike

Hi Mike, I found this machine at a flea market, so I picked it up and brought it home, now I have 3 of them, but this one looks like it has been used very little, everything is perfect and the bag was fresh and clean with no dust inside. It's amazing. WHat I have difficulties to find are later model 7008 ( with rubber guard all around the base) that I used to see very often use during the Eighties almost everywhere, schools, cinemas, offices, stores etc...probably they're still in use!

Beautiful machine .... great memory!!
An upscale men's clothing store I worked at during grad school was cleaned with that machine.
It was pushed around by an elderly man with a very even cadence, and the machine just purred.
He vacuumed in the early morning and was usually finishing up when we all arrived.
I always tried to arrive early so I could steal a ton of glances.
Fond Memory!!
Enjoy your great find!!
Pat

912A

Hi Tommy,

This is truly one beautiful lady. I have had a 912A for a good many years now, since I started collecting really, about 12 years ago. Yours looks to be an OCTOBER 1975 model. 1 month younger than I am, but it has weathered much much better than I have! :D Mine cost me £3 from the local dump! :D

Well done on such a unique find. I have only recently managed to add a first class condition U7008 to my collection. Probabley the most expensive machine I have purchased. £80 including postage. Not much by some peoples standard, but the 912A cost me what my machines normally cost! :D

Anyways, Happy hoovering all.

Clark.

I got one at a Men's store that was closing. "Selling fixtures", etc.. I asked a bout the cleaner, he replied, "How's ten bucks"?
It's Not in THAT condition. ENJOY it. I'm sure you will.

dera, I dont know what I'de be able to do for a 7008, however I'm keeping this marvellous creature in my flat in milan, where the two other appliances in use are a dyson and a Vorwerk kobold k135.
I have some problems because I really see dust coming out of the bag
but as I love the machine itself I'll do something I've done several times on vintahe hooner convertibles/commercials:fit a kirby bag on it. I'll use a spare cloth bag I have in my inventory, put and seal a filling tube in it and fix a high filtration bag because I'd like to use it everytime but after don I cough for an hour and, beleave, it's not nice..
However... another vac I'd kill for is Hoover Model U 4281 in black and orange, I'll write a letter for Santa Klaus!

U7008.

Tommy,

I do have an older U7008, in need of a little TLC. I might be able to dig this out for you in the new year if you are interested. You may see pictures of my 912A and the U7008 you can have on my website, www.freewebs.com/bfg75... THE CLASSIC HOOVER EMPORIUM.

You might be able to help me aswell. I noticed from a number of your photos that you have a lot of Hoover Convertible (Dialamatics USA). This is one machine I would adore. I wonder if in the new year we might be able to do some sort of trade if you would be willing, otherwise you are still welcome to the U7008 which we can sort out together!

Happy hoovering,

Clark.

convertibles

tommymilan's profile picture
Hi Clark,
I know that Convertibles (uk dams) were not popular in the Uk as they were built in France, as you saw I have different models ffrom the early 70s to the late 80s, I have a paire of white/ mutard from 1976, three white /yellow from 1978-79, four cream/brown from 1982-84 and two two-tones green from 1985. In case you wished to make an exchange please let me know which one you'd prefer to have!
Maybe next time I go to the country house where the vacuums are I can take a few pictures of the different vacuums.
Tommy

Convertible!

Hi Tommy,

Thank you for your reply.

I think that any would be wonderful as an exchange, personally I don't mind, but think it fairest to look at perhaps one of the cream and brown 82-83 models.

I will catch up with you soon as I am at work at the moment.

I look forward to being able to do this very much as the Convertible is one machine which I had when I was younger but failed to appreciate how rare it was! :D

My email address is clark.mills@lineone.net if you want to message me privately about this.

Many many thanks,

Clark.

Hy Tommy
You are unbelievably lucky to have models U 7008
If you ever see one for sale, anywhere in Europe, I'm OK to buy.
(any price)
You wrote some models were built in France... I did not know that and I did not see any U7008 in France.

Grrrrrr.... would like to find one.
