I read on the Consumer Reports website that they were testing a new vacuum from Hoover called the Convertible. Anyone know anything about this?

The November CR on the stands has a big pro/con 3 page Survey section on Vacuums.

Convertible?

Don't get your hopes up too high. This is the Hoover Anniversary "Convertible" but has nothing to do with what we know as a Convertible. They only renamed the Savvy and previous Windtunnel V2 as "Convertible" because it can be converted from bag to bagless (as each of those previous models could). I bought one of these and it is decent but if you are expecting a modernized and state of the art Model 65, this is not it. Since they did reissue an updated Constellation, it would have been nice for their 100th anniversary, if they would have made the new convertible as a tribute to the original model (supposedly the best selling vacuum in history) rather than just using the name as a play on words.

I was told

that HOOVER is "planning' to re-introduce a convertible. This was brought out now just to get people "used" to it again. They SHOULD have made a "new" anniversary cleaner. TTI has everyhing but common sense. Do they not realize thast these gems from the past are what made them what they are?
THAT is what they need. Just my $.02
