All apart - fixed up real good. Can't do a thing about its ugly. Very well built with a steel body - pulls 80". But oh, so misguided and tasteless a late 1960s design - too ugly even for Mad Men. Unless it dates from the 70s? All tools, wands and the hose ride on board. Uses it's very own proprietary bags with a hexagonal cardboard sealer. I understand it was also available in tan and woodgrain. Ugh. :-) |

Moved the Steel label to the baclk housing to let that glorious floral design stand out proudly. I took it over to Ellisons to see if he had bags or could get some. He made the finger cross sign of 'Devil be gone' when I entered. We figure someone at Sunbeam was doing serious drugs to let this get to market. But Bill did spend 15 minutes in the basement searching for bags he remembered having - he does have one pack of bags for the Sunbeam Courier. Looked 'em up too and NLA. The wheeled floor nozzle is cool tho', with an aluminum sole plate & retracting brush strip. Missing a matching green Sunbeam dusting brush, if anyone has one lying around...? Well, now I've rescued 4 vacuums in this bilious green I have a sub collection I'll call Elphaba's Electrical Brooms. LOL |

Doug, due mainly to our plunging dollar and a raft of medical tests I have signed up for this winter - just the usual 55 year old total exploratory & tuneup type stuff - I have had to decide that I can not make the traditional roadtrip out to Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Winnipeg and Moose Jaw this year. In order to keep myself available for Nov, Dec & Jan appointments as they come up I'll only be doing short - 5-6 day ones so I don't have to hire a Cat Sitter - thrifty runs to places around the great lakes (Ohio, PA,and upstate NY and so on.) I haven't had the time to write to you but I remember you had set aside a pack of Challenger bags for me? I'll get around to compiling a wish list after Nov 9 and arrange for you to send Pete & I a care package... Dave |

You'll have to refresh my tired brain, Doug. Which Videos? Dave 11 days and another 60 hour week to go til I'm myself again... we're doing a high def film version of Caesar & Cleopatra this week wedged between and on top of the regular 9 shows - it's a strain on the brain and we're operating in major sleep deprivation mode. :-) |
