I have just learned that this was the first Hoover to use a paper bag. So...what type of bag did it use? Was it similar to the convertible in function?

Thanks!

Guy

similar, but NOT the same. Very hard to get them, but, I have about 20. Great cleaner, too

My 63 uses a type c bag. It has a metal inlet tube. But it takes a style c bag.

If i recall correctly, the model 60 was the first Hoover to take paper bags standard. The models 60,61,and 62 all took the reusable hygienisac/handisac bag, later known as type W. The model 63 used a "throw away" bag now known as type C.

so was the 29 before the 60? My 29 has a tube but I don't think a bag will go on it.

You are correct! Except the model 60 was available with either a shakeout bag, or the hygenisac...

There was also a "Handisac" bag available for the 150 and 28.
