And is united with all her attachments. Unfortunately, the attachment box got wet this winter, but other than that, she is like brand new. I even have the original shipping box. She was restored in Omaha and I shipped her back last weekend. The bag and cord is back on and she is like brand new. Mike Buffington from San Francisco, Charlie Watrous from Charlotte and Tania from Milwaukee are here for the unveiling!

Nice and shiny, and I love the color of the attachments!

I"LL SUE!!!!

Please be notified that a law suit is forthcoming. I was knocked out of my chair onto my Gluteus Maximus from the glare provided by your restored Kirby. Even McDonald's is required to put a warning label on their coffee- "Caution Hot". I would have liked to have seen a similar warning on this thread! "The beauty of the attached shiny Kirby may knock you on your butt". Of course, sending said Kirby to me at your earliest convenience may delay or suspend such litigation...

Hold off on that lawsuit, I am sure we can work out a negotiated settlement. Just come up for a visit and we will talk. Here is the 561 with a 519 attachment box that wasn't water damaged. Also filled with brand-new attachments.

Surprising Tania!!

air-waycharlie's profile picture
Mike Buffington and I were hiding in one of the attics of Tarantula Arms. We won't discuss what Fred Nelson hides up there, but there is a back set of stairs for a quick get-a-way for those unfortunate incidents.
We had decided to sing "Bosom Buddies" from "Mame". She loves the Lucille Ball/Bea Arthur movie. When we heard Tania and Fred on the other side of the door discussing the 561, Mike said "On the count of four."
Fred said Tania looked strange wondering where that strange and awful singing was coming from. (Although Tania thought it was wonderful.)
Then Fred opened the door and we shouted, "Surprise!" This was really her birthday surprise even thought her birthday was 9/4
I've tried to surprise her many times and have successfully in the past. It's getting harder all the time! But, I pulled off another one as she thought I was in Arizona.

Wow Fred, that really is stunning. There's just no machine from that era more gloriously beautiful than the late 500-series Kirbys. And, frankly, seeing it side by side with the Sentra, the great-great-great Grandmother Sentria is pretty ugly looking if you ask me. it's all gnarly and bumpy and out of proportion, no graceful and flowing lines, and the colors are just hideous

Fred

GORGEOUS Kirby!! That is my favorite model too. The bag is just stunning with the red trim against the polished finish. One of our neighbors in the Donas had one and last I heard, she still is using it regularly.
You guys look like you're having fun. One of these days, I'll come up for a visit too
Take care all

The Kirby is just beautiful all dressed up now - and I thought she was a looker when prancing around my house naked last weekend
Looks like you guys are having a great time - hope you had a very happy birthday, Tania
(I once got a set of press-on nails for my birthday too but they were too small and I couldn't get them to stay on for more than an hour or so - maybe it was all those eyes I kept scratching out ;-

Hey Guys

I will check with the guy in Omaha and Greg to see if he wants more business. He owns a vacuum shop and restores vintage cars, hence the incredible job he does. Very reasonable too. I'll let you know. Here is Newton, admiring the work when I picked it up.
