This person knows a great deal more about Compacts than she is letting on in her 'innocent little me' act. $45 maybe. This is the sort of greedy seller that will lower the price $25 each time its relisted until it sells high or its withdrawn. This is also the sort of seller who has a friend snipe in a very high bid at the end so it can be relisted.

But no...just no.

Wow!

That's a beauty!

I personally find the price within reason, maybe a bit high, but not crazy high like some of them. With my own TriStar, the cost of replacing missing bits was pretty grim. To find something this complete - well, it doesn't happen every day. And then too, getting the correct bits takes most people a lot of time and effort and searching and money - a lot of cities are very lean pickings for this sort of thing, for some reason. I could hunt for a year here in the Atlanta area and not find what Dave can find in one day!

So, in my opinion, there's some justification for a high price in this case, since the machine is so pristine, instead of a do-it-yourself kit. There's an old saying: "If you want to buy nice clean oats, we have to charge accordingly. If you can make do with oats that have already been through the horse - well, those are a little cheaper."

I agree Sandy. and that's why I bid $49.99 for that re-designed Compact Magic Disc...and was the only one to bid. The thing has never been used and has all the ephemera. That piece of foil she speaks of is mirrored vinyl with a grid embossed on it. The same stuff was used around the switch on Lewyt Big Wheels for a time. All ya have to do is renew the adhesive backing.

My thinking went - the first two listing prices were first outrageous at $159 and then still too high at , I think $79 second time. If I didn't get it cheap this time it would been re-listed again, the bidding wars would start and the price would end up where she first proposed. Hell, $50 for a NIB late model magic Disc...not like ya see a lot of those around.
It's gonna look right nice beside the first version boxed Magic Disc in Compact Corner...
:-)

Dave
