1972 Eureka F & G Promo Model Ad
[Down to Last]
Post# 475928   3/10/2025 at 23:04 by Paul (USA)

This is a Lowe's ad from November 15, 1972, so the F & G has to be from the 2000 Series. Until now, I have not seen a box top bag cover (appears identical to the ones used on the Vanguards and other high end models) on a Classic hood cleaner (which in the '70s was typically used for mid- to low- end models).

The description names the height adjuster as a Rugulator, although the Dial-A-Nap is illustrated. The box top covers during that time were indeed cloth with vinyl tops, so that corresponds with the picture. Maybe the ad agency just goofed on the height adjuster.

Has anyone seen one of these?

(Color Photo is the New Line-Up launched in Late 1972; originally posted by OpelGTKarl.)

Cool ad!
The low end version would be a solid vacuum.

I have a 2073-A, given to me by Marty Rocha (thanks Marty!) It looks a lot like that 2074-A. Box-top bag, sliding height adjustment, 2-speed, but no switch up at the hand grip. Very powerful machine, but very loud.

The 2073-A was a slight upgrade from the 2072-A with Edge Kleener channels in the base plate, so your 2073-A's original handle was swapped out and the switch moved to the base. I also wonder if the motor has been replaced unless it just needs maintenance, because the original ones were not that loud.
