My Kirby 562
[Down to Last]
Post# 475900   3/7/2025 at 21:09 by mahermusic (Central Jersey)

I'm a NuTone Central Vacuum guy, posting over in the Contemporary section here on Vacuumland, but I wanted to share my one & only other vacuum that I've got: a Kirby 562 from 1962.

Yep, I know... non-original bag & a few other things, but I think it's nice nonetheless! (I still love my NuTone more, though... :)

I love those old Kirby’s! It also seems mostly complete. How’d you find it? I’d love to know!

Found in corner of a curio shop....

The shopowner's mother bought it brand new in 1962.... never even touched the Handi-Butler or any of the accessories!

I hope you'll treat that original cord with extreme tender loving care! It's very rare and this is the only model that had this color cord.

It's nice to see the rare original two-tone cord on your Kirby, Take care of it.

No worries...

This 562's original cord will stay packed with the Kirby.... never to be separated!

And no scratches on the machine, this could easily be polished by hand:) But if you ever wanted to go crazy, this user on another thread explains how he polishes his Kirbys and other aluminum machines for a really nice shine.

Thanks for the link!

Now THAT'S a shine! Maybe someday we'll take the 562 out & polish her up!
