Are there any new vacuum brands out there that are being sold at big-box stores? Because the top brands that I see on online stores (including, but not limited to Target, Walmart, Best Buy and Amazon) are Shark, Bissell, Eureka, Dyson, Hoover, Dirt Devil and Kenmore. These vacuums are generally bagless, and seem to have brought nothing new to the table over time. However, there are a few bagged options, which are mostly commercial machines (like Sanitaire).

The only new brand I could find on Amazon was Vacmaster; they appear to produce budget upright vacuums. Besides that, have any other new companies popped up in recent years?

I noticed last time I was in Home Depot that Ryobi now sells stick vacs. They sell a model for $149 ($99 while discounted), but it doesn't come with a battery or charger, so it's for people already invested in the Ryobi tool ecosystem. Online they do sell a model with the battery, but it's $259. I will admit it did feel sturdy in the store.

That's the only new-ish brand I've seen for awhile. If anything, there's less brands now! Just recently learned Bissell now owns Rug Doctor. Are Bissell, Dyson, Shark and TTI the only major players now?

Wow, I had no idea that Ryobi makes stick vacs now! It seems that just about every competitor is imitating the stick form factor made famous by Dyson (motor and bin in hand, long wand, powerhead at the bottom).

I was also completely unaware of the Bissell-Rug Doctor acquisition. I just had to visit the website; I was surprised to see "Rug Doctor by BISSELL" on the home page. But yes, it does appear that the four companies you mentioned are indeed the only major players in the big-box vacuum industry nowadays.

A Walmart brand that's made by TTI. Mainly Hoover/Dirt Devil designs made to sell at a lower price point.

Also, Cleva has some of the Kenmore designs relabeled as Vacmaster.

Brands Makita, Milwaukee, Ryobi and quite a few tool manufacturers make stick vacs.
Your on a job site you have Milwaukee batteries vacuuming is easier than using a shop vac.
Milwaukee rigid are owned by TTI.

I have that Ryobi stick vac, a Christmas present from the other half. With his military discount $89 at Christmas. It has a very irritating sound to the brush roll so that it pretty much just sits there parked. Great agitation with the brush roll. Just fair suction.
