Two of my favorite upright vacuum designs, Dial-A-Matic for bypass and F&G for direct air.

The Baycrest Select-O-Matic

That’s so cool! I’ve never seen a Select-O-Matic! I have a Baycrest Power Astromatic, which is the Baycrest version of the Hoover Celebrity. Hoover had a contract with the Hudson Bay Company in the late 60s to the mid to late 70s I believe. I believe your Select-O-Matic is from 1976. Here’s the original ad for it as well. Enjoy!

if you need any assistance with service procedures on that Baycest Dial, let me know. Re-gasketing the bag door with window gasket foam and polishing the sole plate to a mirror shine will drastically increase performance, among other things. the brushroll takes a type 50 belt, and "D" bags for dust bags
