so here is what i did to defeat the oval emptor bag install on my classic III.i threw the bag in the dryer to heat up the elastic & with one pull it went right on with ease.PROBLEM SOLVED ! i now again love my kirby classic III !

The bags have a metal spring in them. They will expand like everything when heated.
It looks good and ready too deep clean.

Yes, they do.

In the Classic III instruction book, it says indeed the bag has a strong spring and "reasonable strength and skill" is needed to remount it.
