I saw this vacuum at Habitat today. Looks to be maybe a lower line or mid line model. It doesn’t have the two speed switch, performance indicator, woodgrain top or tool caddy like the one I have. But I don’t think it’s quite bottom of line.
Anyway I didn’t get it (yet) but I was debating on it. It was $15, it was missing the Powermate, but had the hose and all other attachments with it. I need another vacuum like I need a hole in my foot. I haven’t acquired another vacuum in quite some time, but I rarely see these older Kenmores or anything this old around here. |

i would advise against it if youre in the hopes of finding the powermate for that machine. unless you trope trade in rooms and junk piles in vac shops regularly, you will NEVER find the powerhead for that machine by itself. if youre just ok with the canister by itself. take it home and enjoy it. that is a 4th tier powermate from 1975

That’s kind of why I was hesitant on getting it. I already have the top model from the 70s that also didn’t have a Powermate, but I had been looking for one for years, so bought it anyway. Someone on Facebook said they had a Powermate for that one but I never got around to asking.
Yes, I really like the color of that Simplicity also. |
