What vacuum's synthetic bags are large enough to be cut and used with a GE Swivel Top Canister Vacuum?

My mind goes to

Compact/TriStar HEPA bags, but I don't think they're quite large enough. Look at you getting me all crafty minded 😂 it's been a lot of trial and error with making and modifying bags to fit old stuff. For a point of reference, Simplicity S bags will fit a Eureka Whisk with a little trimming! 😆

Good luck! Can't wait to see what you come up with

You might try Numatic Henry synthetic bags. From the videos I’ve seen prepared by Ibaisaic on YouTube, these seem to be very very large.

Thanks,

I ordered the Numatic bags to see if they work.

Numatic......

proved to not be wide enough. Any other ideas?

Hmm…. what about Hepa bags for a big central vacuum motor unit….surely these have enough material to cut open and modify for the GE…..see link below….

Brian,

do you own a GE Swivel top and a central vacuum?

No…but I figured you just need enough synthetic bag filtration material to be able to cut it to fit the full circumference of the Swivel Top’s tub. So I was just recommending the largest hepa bags that might give you enough material to create a large enough bag.

Understood.

I am thinking about the central AC bags. I noticed they are pricier.
I will respond later with the results.
Thanks, and I appreciate your suggestion. I also welcome any other suggestions from the membership.

Why not try using a Kirby HEPA Cloth bag? I think that would work since it's one of the largest upright bags on the market. Take off the cardboard collar, close the hole up with staples or glue, and then cut the side of the bag open and line the GE cloth motor bag with it.

Found one!

In the form of a packet of Nutone Central Air bags. They are pricey but do the job. Thanks for your suggestions.
