I attached a link. It's likely 1940s era. They usually have a bag the same color as the color they're painted. Yours would've had either a dark maroon bag or a blue bag. I have a red vac just like it but not sure it's a Westinghouse. I think mines a sweeper vac iirc made indirectly by apex.

Here's an ad that shows the Deluxe (silk screened on the bag) that looks like the one originally posted in this thread:

Westinghouse H-10 Hand Vac. Quite similar to yours except that the housing is shaped differently and it has a different belt cover plate. Think mine might be a bit newer than yours but I'm not sure. Although the bag on mine is beige with red printing, I have also seen them with burgundy or brown bags. Hope this helps.

Late 1940s/ early 1950s if I remember. They came out after the war I know that much. Not entirely rare as they ran for a good many years. Never seen that one with that model of belt cover cap. I have one that has the rare upright conversion setup, its a goofy contraption and it took me about 10 mins to figure out how the vacuum even goes in it. lol Sadly someone rebristled it with nylon bristles from a toilet brush and they drag down the motor way too much to the point of smelling like burning wires, I need to figure out how to redo it with horsehair. |
