I have just recently purchased an Oreck Orbiter after looking for one for a decent price for years. Does anyone have any dry foam shampoo/pre-spray recommendations to use with the Orbiter? I have used the Oreck-recommended Capture pre-spray and powder before, but I thought the liquid might be more economical. I would also welcome any VLM carpet cleaning tips as well. Thanks!

VLM… Also known as encapsulation

I love the products from this company and they’ve been very helpful to me. You can call and tell them what piece of equipment you’re working with and they’ll advise on which product to use. I will say, the bristles on the Orbiter carpet brush might not be the best choice for VLM. This technology tends to work better with what’s known as “pad capping”, or even better with a CRB machine because of the way the carpet fibers are groomed.

Thanks! I wonder how well it would work with the terrycloth bonnet instead of the shampoo brush.

I’ve seen it done with terry cloth bonnets.

You might also want to look into microfiber pads. Some years ago I was able to find microfiber pads worked with my Orbiter plastic backing plate that is used with the other pads. I’ve attached a link to their website.
