This one may be a little morbid for some... so don't say I didn't warn you.
Anyone who's been in the Disney World/Land sphere likely has heard of the Haunted Mansion ash protocol. If not, let me explain. Basically, whenever someone dumps their loved one's ashes in the Haunted Mansion rides at Disney, the protocol is to shut the ride down, stating that there were "technical difficulties", then go in with respirators and other hazmat gear and vacuum up and subsequently dispose of the ashes. In a gross way, it's like Luigi's Mansion in real life (unrelated to the vacuuming process, but the ash-dumping has led to the rumors of the rides actually being haunted. Take that how you will). I think you can infer where this is going. My question is what vacuums do they use to do such a dirty job? The most I've heard about them is they have HEPA filters (and I would sure as heck hope so). My guess is that they use backpack vacs of some kind, and the only thing I've heard about what brands Disney uses specifically are Windsor Sensors in their resorts, which.... let's just say I wouldn't be comfortable using for such a task. Actually, now that I think about it, they might used those specialized vacuums for hazardous substances, like asbestos vacuums, but I could be wrong. If anyone knows, feel free to share it here. |
