I found this on facebook marketplace yesterday. I’ve wanted an older Hoover for awhile so I’m very glad to have it. The mother sounds pretty loud I’m almost certain it’s the fan. It was damaged when I took it apart. Additional some of the plastic pieces where broken so I might 3D print them.

Yeah that's one of the problems with direct air vacuums are fans breaking. I would've definitely bought a Windtunnel over these because of it. Despite that, I think they were good machines back in the day.

Nice find. I have the same Futura like yours. The fans in these elite style machines always broke. When they break, the motor housing and fan housing can also go out with it. The parts have been discontinued since 2012 for these elites. You can find new or used parts on eBay. I saw a new hose that would go for that machine. It would be very interesting if you did 3D print the fan. I hope you can get this one fixed up since these really are good machines on carpet.

That's a shame the fan broke. There are still some vac shops out there that have back stock of parts and they appear on eBay every so often too. They are a great machine, just watch what you suck up. Some of those were louder over others.
