Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone knows about the history of the Hoover Legacy? The deluxe style Elites. Like when did they first introduced and discontinued? And list of models as well. Thanks.👍😁

I believe the earliest ones I've found were like from 1990. But there's so many models that it's hard to count them all and find out when were the last ones made at.

1990 sounds right for the original models. I have this brochure for one with a date of February 1990.

Later in their life they were sold as Dimensions. I had one for a few years that I remember being from 1995. This Youtube video I found is from 97.

The one on the right is from 1992 before they called started calling that model the Legacy Supreme. The one on the left is from 1998. The last of the Legacy’s.

These are the Legacy model name variations and numbers I located from 1990 to 2001. There may be others I missed or that were advertised without model numbers. As far as I can tell the 5000s were those with hard bag covers. Most, as I recall, were equipped with 31-foot cords.

Like Eureka, Hoover's model numbers sometimes were out of numerical order in production. For example, the U4537 was advertised later than the U4557.

Legacy 750
U4557-910

Legacy 800
U4569-910

Legacy 810
U4581-910

Legacy
U4731 (7.1 amps, Sears)

Legacy 830
U5069-910 (7.5 amps)
U5079-910 (7.1 amps)

Legacy II
U4537-980

Legacy Supreme
U5099-930 (35-foot cord, micro filtration - Service Plus)

Legacy (with Dirt Finder)
U5103-930 (Montgomery Ward)

Legacy
U5219-950 (with allergen filtration)
