I love doing those kinds of projects. It's fun when you realize you basically have everything you need to make a fully functional machine.
I did that last summer with two cheap, semi-trashed Kirbys from Goodwill, a G4 and a Gsix. The G4 was in overall better shape, so I robbed parts from the Gsix to complete it. Of course, over the next few months, I got to where I couldn't stand looking at the Gsix in its forlorn, semi-disassembled state, and started scouring my parts stash to reconstruct it, and found I had basically everything I needed on hand, except for the outer bag, which I found relatively cheap online. Ironically, it was off of a G4. Doesn't look bad, though. |
