Is an Aerus PN elbow the same as a Tristar PN elbow? Are they interchangeable? Would their crevice tools fit exactly in the wands? I ask because I bought a Aerus Lux PN and it has a black elbow.

Aerus has owned Tristar for a while now so it'd make sense for them to use the same parts and I'd imagine they're interchangeable, at least for the Guardian Platinum that is. I've never swapped the parts out before so I can't confirm.

Garry, the powerhead neck, wands, hose handle and tools from the Aerus Guardian Platinum and Aerus Guardian Ultra are interchangeable with the TriStar EXL, MG1, MG2, MG3 and CS. The powerhead neck, wands, hose handle and tools from the Aerus Lux Legacy, Epic 6500, Renaissance, Epic 8000, Epic 9000 and the first Guardian are NOT interchangeable with the TriStar EXL, MG1, MG2, MG3 and CS.

Unless you wanted the light, you wouldn't want to use the Guardian Ultra or Guardian Platinum powerhead on a TriStar. A couple advantages a TriStar powerhead has is the metal magnesium top puts a little extra weight on top, which helps the brushroll dig in and groom the carpet. Also, the Aerus powerheads have the floating height adjustment built into the back wheels. The TriStar powerheads don't have this feature and use wheels with fixed axles for the back wheels. Again, this helps the TriStar powerhead groom a little better on certain styles of carpeting, like low pile carpets. Years ago, there was a axle cover that had 2 slots in to accommodate changing to fixed axles for the back wheels, but that part has been discontinued by Aerus, so you would have to find a dealer with stock or buy a used powerhead that has that axle cover and use it for parts.
