Among the last of the old Eureka F & G series was the limited-run 2100 Series. I had paid little attention to it myself until recently when I noticed '2100 Series' on packaging.

Here are the Model-Types I located at ezvacuum.com along with their marketing years in the newspaper database:

2101A/A T/B (1989-92), 2105A/B (1989-90), 2107A (1989-91), 2109A (1990), 2118A/B (1990-91), 2122A/B (1990-93), 2124A (1990-93), 2125A ? - ?), "The BOSS Plus" 2134B/BT/BT/D/DT/E/ET (1991-93), "The BOSS" 2150A (1990), 2152A (? - ?)

3. Fresh Solutions F & G Bag Package—Series 200, 600, 1400, 1900, 2000, 2100, 4000, 5000, 7500, S600, SC800 (most packages include 200 without 2100 or vice versa; earlier packages list 2200 & 2300 Continental Series).

4. GIC brand F & G Bag Package with "W-I-D-E-R for new E.S.P. Models"—something I learned. Does anyone know the width difference between the older style and these? (was it 1-inch or greater?)

5. Eureka brand RD belts—for Series 600, 1400, 1900, 2000, 2100, 4000, 5000, 6400 & 7500

Paul, do you happen to have a picture of the model that uses this style A bag? 1401. I'm curious to see what it looks like.

Model 1401

Kenny,

Here's an ad from the November 27, 1975, edition of the YOUNGSTOWN VINDICATOR and a 1975 Eureka full line vacuum poster initially posted by OpelGTKarl; the 1401 is on the far left of the second row.

Although the similar models 238, 228, 1402, 1403, and 1404 were all automatics it's odd that only the 1401 (which was made after the 1403) was equipped with the Type A bag set-up. Further, none of the ads made mention of the distinction, so it wouldn't appear to be a selling feature; except for possibly a lower price point.

Ads indicate that production occurred from circa 1975 to 1980.

2100 Series Bag Cover Designs

Got to thinking that it seems likely that Electrolux's design director, Christian Klingspor, designed the 2100 Series bag covers.
