"Princess" Background: The Canadian Onward Manufacturing Company Ltd's Model 702C-A (US Model-Type 702-A) was the first rendition of the "Princess" flip-top canister. In 1963 the body style became the new 500 Series budget canister; and the Model-Type 711C-A "Princess II" with a new body-style succeeded the 702C-A as a mid-level canister option.
In 1964, the Model-Type 705-A "Princess" with Power-Pak dual exhaust and Stow-Away tool tray was introduced; the Model 711 was then discontinued but later brought back with the Tool-Pack (711-P) and as one of the "Cordaway" (711-X) canister models (none of the Cordaways nor the Model 1255 Roto-Matic Power Team were named "Princess" even though they had similar styling).
More operational updates, and color changes continued to hold customer interest; although the model name was dropped altogether in the early 1980s. In fact, the trapezoid-shaped canister's production continued until 1992.
So if you decide to get the instruction manual then go searching for the "Princess" itself, prepare for finding a number of model-types with varying styles and features!
