Most are Eurekas, Hoovers, and Lewyts. My focus was on uprights, canisters, and Power Teams. Some years had no catalog postings or only the Christmas Books—at least the ones I checked were devoid of floor care appliances.

Have a look & enjoy!

Wow! This is great, Paul! Thanks once again!

Just one correction: that first big wheel MW Signature canister was actually made by Westinghouse, not GE.

correct to #1 thats a Westinghouse mobile speed, not a roll easy

Post# 471034 , Reply# 6   5/3/2024 at 08:06 (261 days old) by Paul (USA)

Thanks, Brian (reply #1) and Will (reply #5)!

My knowledge of Westinghouse is slim—I'd never heard of a Mobile Speed before. Which came first—it or the Roll-Easy?

Guessing that the canisters in photo 2 were Westinghouses?

G-E Roll-Easy & Roll-Around

Found my answer to which was first—the Roll-Easy (1956) or Mobile-Speed (1957); and I even discovered the colors.

Newspaper Ads:

1. 1956 Nov 2 SPOKESMAN-REVIEW G-E Roll-Around (C-3) in Coral and Roll-Easy (R-1) in Aqua

2. 1957 Dec 10 PORTSMOUTH TIMES - Westinghouse Mobile Speed MC-1

3. 1958 Apr 30 READING EAGLE - Westinghouse Mobile Speed MC-1 in Beige or Dark Brown

That Westinghouse Mobile Speed has a neat design that allows the user to sit it securely on a stair on it’s flat side. Very cool!

Thanks again for all these catalogue scans, Paul! If you want to add another set of similar Eurekas from the 1960’s and 1970’s, try to find online versions of the Canadian Eaton’s catalogues, including their large Christmas editions. There you will see all of these Eurekas branded with the Eaton Viking name.

Glad you are enjoying the catalog pages, Brian; I figured you would be one of the interested parties!

I sure would do the same for Eaton's catalogs but was unable to find a single site like the one I used for MW & JCP. In fact, I was only able to find partial uploads of some editions here and there. Please send me the link.

My grandparents had the yellow convertible in reply G. They gave it to me at a young age. I don't remember what happened to it. Do you know what the model number is?

On photo #4, on the Elite 200, they put the outer bag on wrong. 😜

Elite bag

This was a common problem that didn't allow the paper bag to inflate. I have seen this several times when customer assembled. Hoover later added a sheet to instructions showing right and wrong assembly.

Kenny

In bold text at the end of the description, the model is listed as U4037; that's immediately followed by Service Merchandise's identifier, so it's hard to detect.
