I got this email this morning:

> Subject: Can't find Reverse Air Flow switch for Electrolux AP100
>
> Hello,

> Can you help?

> Much appreciated

First time I've ever heard of a reverse air flow switch. I sent back a short explanation of how to attach the hose to the exhaust.

Thought the rest of you might get a laugh out of it too. (Blond maybe?)

That is funny, She must have watched the episodes of The Munsters when Lilly Munsters vacuum would blow dust out intead of sucking it up.

There's also a scene in the later film version of "Dennis the Menace" (the one where Walter Matthau plays Mr. Wilson) where Dennis is in his dad's garage playing with a shop vac. He's using it to suck up paint that he spilled on the floor. Then, a close shot of a two-way switch showing something like "suck/blow" or some-such. Dennis pushes the switch to the "blow" position and a blob of paint goes flying and, well, get the movie to see what happens! It's really quite a hilarious film. Many laugh-out-loud moments.

Vacuum-Blow

Now I've been collecting vacuums seriously since 1982, and thought I knew SOMETHING about them. An Electrolux 1205 that I had been using for some time got a clog in the hose. The immediate remedy that came to mind was to apply pressure and attempt to blow it out, but I could not find the exhaust port.
I was never so embarrassed in my life when it became necessary to call a lady friend and housekeeper to find out what to do???
.....never would have guessed that little plastic cover on top of the machine slid open.... Dah ! D

Were you the really young guy (11-12) who was at the Milwalkee convention (with your parents) five years ago? I may have sold you a Hoover 115 that I had there. Did you attend this year's N. Canton Convention? I most likely would not have recgnized you after five years of growth. After all, you'd be an old man soon pushing 20. ;-D
Time flies when you're having fun with vacuum cleaners! Take care and good to hear from you.
