Rob - just wanted to say, I admire you for your original post and offering this Kirby and offering to sell and restore it to a member here. Very commendable of you, considering Kirby now wants $750 to do a Factory Rebuild - and it wouldn't come back with original parts!
I do hope that someone here takes this off your hands instead of getting used and abused by a construction crew and getting scrapped. Would be a absolute shame to see a nice old Kirby treated that way! :( |

I recently reached out to Kirby cause I was mainly curious on what the quote would be now for non original owners, they actually aren't offering that anymore. Only for original owners. Either they kept getting so many Kirbys in for rebuild that they were behind or my best guess is they got limited parts left in stock to rebuild for this generation as they don't make parts for their older models anymore like the Heritage II for example. Last I've heard a quote for original owners is $100 plus shipping both ways.
