Have you ever had dreams about vacuum cleaners? I have actually had a few in the past. Let me share a few:
So, my most recent vacuum cleaner dream was about Dirt Devil remaking (as in bringing back some of their discontinued models) some of their vacuums. I only remember a random bagged upright, a vacuum cleaner that had a canister at the base, and the Dirt Devil Reaction. They also had purple variants too. 2. I had a dream where I was in a big box retail store that sold vacuums (think of Wal-Mart, but they only sell vacuums). I was in the store, and there were the familiar brands (Oreck, Bissell, Eureka, etc) But there was one vacuum brand that I didn't recognize called Rock. The Rock vacuum cleaner appeared to be a rebadged Oreck. I was on the Bissell side on one of the shelves when I saw the Bissell Powerglide Platinum. There was a screen showing an ad for it. 3. I had a dream where Dirt Devil began making toy vacuums again. They remade the Dirt Devil Jr. 2 in 1 but in the current color scheme (Black and Red). There were also more toy vacuums, but the Dirt Devil 2 in 1 was the only one I remember. 4. I had a dream where a singer made a music video with the Oreck Platinum Pilot. 5. I had a dream where I vacuumed one of the rugs in my house with the Bissell Big Green BGU1800T (pictured, so you do not have to look it up) I could tell you all about the other dreams I had, but I want to hear some of your stories now.

When I was a toddler, I used to have nightmares about vacuum cleaners chasing me - I thought they wanted to eat me.
Later on and sporadically through all my life I would often have this bizarre dream about going into the basement of a large house that we somehow owned and finding all the old vacuums our family owned over the years. Finding them in the dream would give me some sense of peace that they were not lost and still in our posession. |

I am regularly dreaming about vacuums. I found this thread after having one last night. I was with the family of David Oreck and he announced to us that he was dying soon and I started sobbing. I was reading his Wikipedia page yesterday, so that one doesn't surprise me. I also often have dreams about thrift stores where I reach the vacuum section and it's filled with a wide variety of machines I want to buy. Typically different types of Hoover Convertibles and Eureka F&G machines that don't actually exist. My most recent one had a T-21 tubrobush that was for hard floors, which only had a triangle shaped brush that went up and down. The issue with all these thrift store dreams is I can never buy any of them for some reason. Typically because either my shopping cart is full or I don't have enough money. So instead of just buying some, I leave all of them at store. This happens to me probably once every three months and ends the same way everytime.
I'd love to hear more dreams if anyone has some to share. |

As this was posted almost two years ago (the memories. I actually forgot that I made this post. I wonder how many posts I have made that I forgot about.) I have had a lot of dreams since then.
-One dream I had was I went to a large goodwill, and I saw a multi-level (think of school risers) structure that contained rows of Oreck vacuums. -I had a dream that Dirt Devil released a toy version of the 2004 Dirt Devil scorpion. They actually released that model again in the dream too. (the toy might have been promotion for it) I found it in the toy aisle, and I said "Now let's see how this compares to the real one" for some reason. -Speaking of Dirt Devil Hand Vacs, I had a dream where they (Dirt Devil) released a new hand vac, that I somehow had in my family's car already. That is all I can remember. Those dreams are actually pretty recent, as in I had them a few months and weeks ago. |

I had this dream a few days ago.
From what I remember, I was on a trip with my brother and possibly my dad to see my sister in another state. We were going through a what I think was a Best Buy (or some other store with a blue color scheme), when we went through the vacuum aisle. To my shock, they had both a NIB Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled (specifically this UK exclusive model), and a NIB Dirt Devil Breeze 088160. I begged them to take me the next day to get it, and they did so. While the Dirt Devil was sealed, the Hoover seemed as though it was used, and the previous owner had returned it, and for some reason the store just put it back on the shelf, not even bothering to re-tape the box. To be fair, I remember it being something under $100. When I got it back to my house (as in, once we were back from the trip), I assembled the Windtunnel, which is when I found out that it was a UK model, as it had a UK plug (or at least what my sub-conscious brain could make out as one). Thus, it didn't work great on 120 volt American circuitry. I also remember it having a different design than the common US ones, almost as if it were a prototype model or something. I remember that the pre-motor filter was positioned at a 45 degree angle in the bag chamber, and it might've had a post-motor filter just behind the back housing of the motor, like a modern Sebo X/G series machine. As for the Dirt Devil, that one was pretty normal, though I remember the box being a bit small for the size of the machine, and even in my sub-conscious state, I remember questioning myself as to why I'd want to get myself another 088160, even though I just acquired one not long ago IRL. Dreams are weird ngl. |
