David,
Thanks so very much for creating this wonderful website. This is a greatly needed source of information for any Kirby lover, and collector. The pictures and other resources are fantastic. I love the Bags Bags Bags page. You have truly out done yourself here. Your friend Alon would be very happy with what you have created in his name, and you should be very proud of your hard work, you have given all Kirby collectors a wonderful gift. Thank you again. Jim |

I just uploaded images of the very first belt cover “knob” and a 560 manual ( thank you Charles Lester for the manual )
The original “dial “ belt cover instructions on the Model C booklet are quoted below ; “ To Attach: Remove cap on front of nozzle. Turn cap counter- Brush Belt clockwise ¾ of an inch (until clamps release) and lift off. The removal of this cap reveals an opening which gives access to the belt which drives the brush..” Www.collectingdust.com |

No I just polished them , bc I had to remove the trim which i prefer not to but in this case the original was in bad shape and broke .
Here is a 4C with the trim and unpolished rivets . In this case I didn’t remove the trim before polishing .

I’m the process of adding more models and literature to my website . Here is a beautiful Classic CR with attachments .
Notice the Sanitronic “S” font pattern oh the boxes ? Doing away with the Sanitronic series … Another interesting fact is that between the years 1970 ,1971 the classic came with the Roll-O-waxer , it was then replaced with the “Miracle waxer” in 1973 for a few months only making it the most rare attachment to find . PS If you have either for sale please contact me . I’d love to add it to my website .

Well I made it, greetings from Wallingford, Connecticut.
First I need to find a house then get my collection out of the storage unit in Benton, Pennsylvania. Should take a few weeks but I'll soon have all my writing material, especially the book of Kirby patents, including the correct patent on 'The Broomstick.' The patent date on that is 1910. House hunting tomorrow. Alex Taber. |

EXTREMELY Rare Model (1) R or some like to refer to as late R . Both the (1)R and its counter part the (1)C are the only ones to ever use this particular belt lifter . I’ve been waiting years for this model and it finally found its way to me . Here are pictures of it post restoration ( polishing and cleaning) .
More info and pics on my website in a few days . This post was last edited 01/20/2024 at 20:18 |

Yes the very first Bakelite belt cap that came after the brass one had a similar design. The more familiar belt cap appeared late in production and was mostly prominent with the 2C-505 , although late model C were also fitted with it .
When I refer to the C models the same goes for the R series as well . On the R there was another variation of a permanent fixed nozzle that came with the brass belt cap . |

I am truly amazed at your ability to find these such rare vacuums so fast, David! Most people have never even seen these outside of photos in a book, or a museum floor. Kirby's company museum has one of those Grasshoppers, and that is really the only place you'd ever get to see one - if you could talk your way in.

Thank you ! :). Tbh I’ve been very proactive in searching for these vintage Kirbys for many years but a lot is luck and the other is that I paid a good amount for those Ezee machines 😆 . But luck mostly . And I’m very happy to share information and pictures with the vacuum collecting community .
As for how many Ezee vacuums are out there . I know of at least 5 : , Kirby HQ one( it’s on loan ) , I have 2 , the museum of clean.has one , a lady in Alaska just recently told me she has one . ( didn’t show pics though ). I’m sure there might be more but it’s hard to tell unless they post about it . What’s your favorite vintage Kirby ? Fun fact :none of these 5 exceed the 1800 unit count serial no. In my opinion,5000 units max were made , if that . |

I have said this before on another thread, but your Kirby website is absolutely stunning! And especially the work you put into restoring those Kirby's. You are a great and valuable resource to the Kirby collectors out there, and even just every day people who want to find out more info about "Aunt Nancy's old Kirby" she had for 45 years and left it in her will to a family member.
You're a inspiration to us all - keep up the great work! :-) |

The Legend II was the last Kirby to include the Emtor, it was first released in black along side the black and maroon shampoo system ( Remo group) and later was released in the maroon you see in the picture alongside the all maroon shampoo system . It was produced for a very short period of time thus making it incredibly rare , I’m aware of other collectors having seen and one or two that also own them. The split second in Maroon was also released with the Legend II and is extremely rare and if you search for it I doubt you’ll find images of it . For reference please check my site to see the different shampoo systems and the different emtors. The legend II was a transitional model and was produced along side the G3 which makes it very unique.
I hope I was able to answer your questions |
