David,

Thanks so very much for creating this wonderful website. This is a greatly needed source of information for any Kirby lover, and collector. The pictures and other resources are fantastic. I love the Bags Bags Bags page. You have truly out done yourself here.

Your friend Alon would be very happy with what you have created in his name, and you should be very proud of your hard work, you have given all Kirby collectors a wonderful gift. Thank you again.

Jim

Awesome job on the website and beautiful collection David. I agree, this is a fantastic reference for current and future collectors. Its so professional, I feel like Kirby should compensate you and link to this from their website! Thanks for sharing all of the manuals and brochures, it’s very generous to share all of these resources openly! Congrats!

The first time I visited the site the service manuals wouldn't download. I downloaded them last night. It's got more info in one place on kirby than probably even Scott Fetzer does. I do applaud this monumental effort.
Ypu should get a message board on it. This one is flat-loning.

Well done, well organized, and visually attractive. Those pre-Classic models are not my area of expertise—all my Kirbys are Classic III or newer—nonetheless, it's good to have a comprehensive resource I can access, should the need arise.

Hi David:

I just had a look and am quite impressed, this is a well thought out sight. Good luck in this venture.

Caligula was the mascot for the V.C.C.C. he's pictured here relaxing on a chair.

I just uploaded images of the very first belt cover “knob” and a 560 manual ( thank you Charles Lester for the manual )

The original “dial “ belt cover instructions on the Model C booklet are quoted below ;

“ To Attach: Remove cap on front of nozzle. Turn cap counter-
Brush Belt clockwise ¾ of an inch (until clamps release) and lift off. The removal of this cap reveals an opening which gives access to the belt which drives the brush..”

Have alot of manuals post 505. The kirby website has manuals you can download.
I have exploded view parts diagram from 505-avalir. It has every part number and I believe it's what kirby dealers use to order parts.
If anything interests you let me know.
Again amazing web site.

If you have service manuals that aren’t available on the site I would love to get a copy but no pressure :)
I will keep uploading images and literature as they become available .

I don't have a dog in this fight and wasn't going to say anything, but I'm going to say something anyway.

It's absolutely jaw-dropping that someone would dismiss the entirety of odavid's brilliant Kirby web site and instead level criticisms about what that person perceives as "flaws."

Unbelievable.

I took a look, it's a great website!

Love the section that covers the details and styles of the dust bags. Those are some of the hardest details to make sense of, since so many Kirbys have gotten mis-matched and modified over the decades it's hard to tell what bag they actually had.

You put new rivets on the headlight trim?

No I just polished them , bc I had to remove the trim which i prefer not to but in this case the original was in bad shape and broke .
Here is a 4C with the trim and unpolished rivets . In this case I didn’t remove the trim before polishing .
