I have noticed that there are threads about forgotten products from certain brands. I have also noticed that there was no thread about forgotten Oreck products, So I decided to make one. This thread is about Oreck products that are either extremely rare or downright forgotten. So I will start: The Oreck Aviator. The Oreck Aviator was apparently made at the same time as the Oreck Platinum Pilot but was not advertised or on the website, so it is no suprise that there are very few photos of the Aviator. So if you guys know of any forgotten Oreck products then feel free to share them.

The XL Legend is a rarer model to come across. It’s a variant of the XL21 but it has a red color and a closed-looped handle that was not the helping-hand handle nor the regular comfort grip handle used on all XL21’s with the open-end on the back. If I’m not mistaken this was the only one to use this handle exclusively. It was made towards the latter part of the XL21’s production in 2008/2009ish.

I second about the XL Legend. Though I think the blue version is more rare than the red one.

Davis

That's the same handle used on the Dual Stack units. It was called, Helping Hand Version 2.

I could list many forgotten Oreck products, but here are a few that come to mind.

Celoc 1500/3500 Canister (One had a cord reel and one didn't)
Bigfoot Upright (Did Oreck actually make this or not?)
Dual Stack
Oreck Radio 8lb Upright
Wet/Dry Vac WD69 (Previously Douglas)
Edge U8000 Series (Only Oreck Lightweight w/ onboard hose that I know of)

Idk where the pic is but somewhere out there is a shiny chrome 1970s Oreck stick vacuum. I'd nominate that

Love me some forgotten Oreck products. Wouldn't this belong in the vintage section?

As a fan of canisters, I like that 3500!
And, as a fan of the odd, I like the one with the built-in radio. For the life of me, I can't find anything worth listening to on the radio any more. But, I like the oddness of it!

The best Oreck I ever tried and liked was the Dutchtech canister series.

Oreck rebadge of a Dirt Devil

Here is a machine known as the Oreck Sweep Simple. It appears to be a rebadge of the Dirt Devil Vac+Dust.

Funnily enough, this one's marketed as a "Hotel Vacuum", despite it not being intended for commercial use. Does that count as false advertising?

Got the images from an OfferUp listing for it.

I think the Hotel model was marketed as a commercial vacuum but for home usage. It's like consumers could have a chance to buy something similarly used in hotels for their homes if that makes any sense. I know Speed Queen laundry does this, they make commercial washers and dryers that are home style but with a commercial warranty. Anyways, they also have a Restaurant Edition but it doesn't have a commercial plug either like the Hotel model.

I think one Oreck that was really cool but forgotten about is the Ducks Unlimited model. Other than the breast cancer models, I liked that Oreck was also able to donate to the organization as I'm a waterfowl hunter myself. I'm willing to bet that's one of the reason how Oreck struck a deal with Sportsman's Guide to sell their vacuums online at one point.

I just saw one of those "Hotel" versions on eBay. It's being parted out, and the outer bag is torn.
I never heard of it before seeing that listing. But, that's another one that I'd make an exception for, if I found one for sale reasonable. Like...that one on OfferUp! But, that one is sold, and I'm nowhere near Florida anyway. Maybe some day. It happened with my 40th Anniversary Editions, and I never thought I'd find either of those locally.

I do not have a pic, but years ago on ebay the empty shell of one came up.

I they just added that blurb because it was tagline for the Company back in the day. Ironically enough, I can't think of any hotels I've seen that've used Orecks. I wonder if that was any different back in the 90s when this was presumably made.

I think we're both partially right. I just looked at the link and the info indicates that it had a ten year warranty on the housing but one year for the parts and labor similar to the commercial models but commercial models don't have a ten year housing warranty. My white XL Classic I have which underneath the hood is the same thing as the Hotel model, ten year warranty on the housing but three years for the parts and labor. Yet according to the serial number, it was made in 2007 which makes mine two years older (built in 2005) but even I've seen other classics newer than the Hotel model with the same three year parts and labor warranty.

I've definitely been to hotels before that used Orecks, mainly at the Best Western ones. Speaking of which, another forgotten Oreck are the ones with the Best Western logos on the bags.

Ah, the McGuffin Oreck. Can't wait for all 7 planets to align for one to pop up on Ebay.

I forget where I just saw one; had to be eBay or Craigslist. I'm leaning toward Craigslist.
But, it was green, and the bag was marked for Merry Maids.
If it was anywhere near me, I would have made an exception for that one too.

Edit:
Yup. It was Craigslist. In New York.
