I've heard the one with the steel back wheel bracket is very early, but this one has the later style floorhead(shown), plated tube for the floorhead, and a handle the same length as the others. The black model tag does not show a model, just the patents, ratings, and serial number 155527, with the last patent date of 1922. Can someone please fill me in on this?

This is a early Airway with a newer nozzle. That nozzle with the adjustable height came out in 1929. Earlier models had the black nozzle tube and the black rear wheel bracket.

"Earlier models had the black nozzle tube and the black rear wheel bracket. " Would this be one of those models, Jim? Hoover300, my serial number is 178247 and it has a "REISSUE DEC. 15 1928" listed under the repogle patents if that helps you out any. My floor nozzle I believe is missing its front wheels and it does not have the little height adjustment levers. |

Here is a photo of the switch. Not sure if it's been replaced or not. Main cord is old vulcanized rubber, from the switch to motor it's cloth.

huskyvacs,
That is a replacement switch. It looks like the original switch bracket is there at the top cord hook. It just so happens that I have an extra original switch with the bracket that I would be more than happy to send you. also the cord should be all cloth as well. Picture 2 is my 1929 Airway with original cord. Jim This post was last edited 06/04/2023 at 09:08 |

Tom,
Thanks that would be great. I hope we do meet some day. I would love to see the museum and have the opportunity to meet you. I have an original Air-Way paper bag in my Green Goddess, but not my 1929 Air-Way. I used a hoover type C bag that works well. Jim |
