One of my good friend Robert's favorite colors is red. Blood red. Kirby red. He rebuilt a Kirby 518 to make it a modern machine. I keep mine natural (like my hair).

Speaking of old things:
The Vacuette Electric is a very interesting machine to work on. Primitive, but very well thought out.

I bought this old thing in December 1984. It was a Christmas present to myself. Bernie Vandeveer was the branch office, senior manager, and he sold it to me. The hose was replaced with a vinyl hose about 20 years into its life.

Oh I love how you have those mixers displayed on the shelf. The colors look so much more striking with that dark shelf.

Also wow, that man baking the cake ad must have been highly controversial for those times!

And are those Lewyt electronics the ones that famously would electrocute people? Fortunately I learned of this problem before I ever found one, or that might be a bad experience. lol

GE Swivel Tops

Did all the GE swivel tops have a 750-watt, reverse-flow motor? Years ago I had a model V11C65 (centered swivel top) with such a motor. Just wondering.

Joel..

The GE swivel tops did have a reverse flow or upside down motor they had 600-750 and 830 watts depending on year 1952-1972 were the years they were built.

That pink Lewyt is a blast from my past! That's the first vacuum cleaner I remember as a child. Ours was charcoal gray on the bottom and the motor unit was Pepto-Bismol pink, as were the tools. The only other one I've seen like that was in a photo of Hans Craig's collection. Although I'm feeling kind of overrun with vacuums these days, and not actively seeking to add any more to my collection, a Lewyt like that is one I'd make an exception for.

Love it. Pre 1 million and post 1 million model 9s have some small differences; primarily the pre 1 million model 9s have a handle that is about 3 inches longer.

The 2 airways I k ow one is earlier than the other but what are some of the other differences.
I'm adding a version they say is a 1922 but it's bag is different and around the nozzle there's a few slight differences.
I have the same eureka imperial with ST bag setup. It was just as powerful as my sanitaire blue line.

The one in your picture does not have its front wheels on the nozzle. The rear wheels have been turned around and it's incorrect. The original outer bag that accepted the disposable bag has been removed and a cloth shake out bag has replaced it.

roll easy

i found out from marc turbyfill, spray silicone spray in the wheels where the two metal rings make contact and itll roll wonderfully. you have to pull the exhuast air plug on the one end and lift the handle on the other to access the area. one light spray will do it. clean up the excess that leaks out.

People really should visit the Museum. It's open for free tours every Saturday. Even this first Heavy Duty Electrolux upright from the Super J era says: "Come on".
