Hello. I just found out that Aerus doesn't make their high-end Platinum vacuum. Someone else does and Aerus just provides the hose and attachments, etc. I'm surprised to hear this (and can't imagine why this would be so) and am wondering who makes the Platinum for Aerus. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Lux International

Lux makes these machines for quite a few other countries. Theirs are a bit more sophisticated than what we can buy in N. America.

Michael, the Guardian Platinum canister is made by Lux International. Accordian to Brian, Funeraldirector on here, they contract it's manufacture to the contract manufacturer Kolektor. It is manufactured in Slovenia.

I would definitely avoid it! There have been TONS of issues with this vacuum since it's release. Namely, the leaking paper bags at first, and members on here have reported circuit board failures early on and issues with the machine end hose connector needing replacement. Plus the bag is ridiculously small - while that may be suitable on a BOL Chinese canister selling for $150, definitely NOT acceptable on a TOL canister costing over $2G!

As for what Luxlife said above, one thing you have to realize is that Aerus has a exclusive contract with Lux Internatinoal to supply them with the vacuum, & Aerus has exclusive rights to sell only it's version in North America. Everywhere else, Lux International is allowed to sell. Back a few years ago, another brand, Sauber, tried to take the same canister with the Lux International hose/wand/powerhead & attachments to the VDTA to gather interest in selling in North America. It never came to be, so Aerus probably threatened legal action.

Aerus needs to keep it simple. Take the Legacy (since it's the only model left with the automatic control), make it a sealed system with a HEPA bag, and put a legitimate HEPA filter on it. Get rid of the bulky plastic hose handle and wands. Take the classic hose, switch to crush proof material, and add a switch on the back of the handle to turn the power nozzle on and off. Give it a steel telescoping wand with integrated electrical connections. Add manual height adjustment to the power nozzle.

And if possible, get back the Electrolux name since those faux Electrolux/Eureka are no longer sold in the US. Letting go of the Electrolux name was the dumbest thing they ever did. Everyone knew what an Electrolux was.

Aerus doesn't make &%$! anymore.

They're low end canisters are made by Perfect.

They have an upright made by Tacony/Riccar

They also have an upright made by Perfect

The air purifier is made by BlueAir

As you've discovered luxe international makes their top end canister.

RIP Aerus 🇺🇲
