Here's some additional Hoover Family history you might be interested in, as I have taken it upon myself to do some Hoover Family genealogy.
It appears that Howard Earl (Bud) Hoover II's step-mother, Miriam Ulbinen Hoover, age 94, is still with us and lives in Glencoe, IL. Miriam Ulbinen was the housekeeper of the late Howard Earl Hoover, Sr. They married in Denver on Oct 2, 1950, when he called her while on a business trip and told her to come to Denver for a wedding. Miriam, age 38, was H. Earl Hoover's, age 60, third wife. Miriam U Hoover played an integral part in the operation of the Hoover Co. H. Earl Hoover, as he was known, was Bud's father, and a nephew of the company's founder W.H. Hoover. He retired 1974 and died in 1985 at age 94. Mr. H.Earl Hoover, Sr. developed many patents for the suction sweeper and helped make famous the Hoover slogan "It beats as it sweeps as it cleans" Including, Howard Earl (Bud) Hoover II, Mr. H. Earl Hoover, Sr, had four sons.

We've met Miriam

back in April, at the Center On Halsted Gala.

She's a delightful lady!

That is why were there with her. She was at the Human First Gala in Chicago. She supports the Center on Halstead. For 94 years old, her mind and humor were excellent. She refused to take the elevator when asked by the friends that brought her to the event. Her comment to them was "why would I take the elevator when there is a perfectly good set of stairs"

She still lives in her own home with the help of many friends.

It was truly a treat to get to meet her.

Morgan

Miriam Hoover

Miriam also lives in Palm Springs, California, where she spends the winter. She gave the west Transcept when they remodeled St. Paul in the Desert Episcopal Church, where she belongs.
