I did clean it up a bit and of course the motor sounds good so I was able to get some parts. There is one on Ebay right now that could use that handle.

Good lord and I thought I had some bad ones to restore, wow wow wow, I think you set the president! Having just taken 3 dead mice out of my garage and 1 nest (so far) I can imagine how that smells.
Boiling water soak for a few minutes intervals at a time and slowly working it off going around in a circle a little bit at a time I think should get it loose. I am not sure if that rubber is heat sensitive so just test it for a bit first. That is typically what you do to old rubber tool handles as the heat makes it expand and soften a bit. I am not sure if Hoover sealed or welded those on but I don't think they would have. |
