So you know how I posted a thread on here about a 1994 simplicity 5000A. Well this time it's a 5000B. What a weird coincidence. The last photo is my Simplicity 5000B on left and Simplicity 5000A on right.

This vacuum is giving me some problems with the brushroll area, it smells like a electric saw cutting through wood? It's probably a belt rubbing against something, I'll work on it tomorrow.

Huh what a strange nuance. It maybe came from the same owner who upgraded a model.

A problem with the Panasonic models, which this one will also have, is the belt is a dirty belt system. Whatever you pick up can go to the belt and damage it. If you pick up too much grit at once, it will cover the belt and then the grit will make the belt slip on the motor shaft and it will melt a hole through the belt. I ruined my Panasonic's belt picking up too much dog kibble at once and all the pulverized food got to the belt and then it smelled like tires burning then the brushroll stopped. It's probably the belt has gotten dirty or it's stretched out and too loose.

With my Simplicity 5000A from 1994, I accidentally sucked up literal glass with the head and surprise it crushed the glass and went through the vacuum into the bag no problem. Shows you these machines are powerful.
