I came across the 2015 children's book "Bug in a Vacuum", published by Simon & Schuster, while surfing the web for children's vintage vacuum cleaners. Its Canadian author and illustrator, Melanie Watt, was born in 1975; so it's interesting that the vacuum cleaner is based on the antique Electrolux Corporation Model XXX. Maybe someone in her family had owned one, or she's visited Vacuumland?!

"Bug in a Vacuum"

This looks like a book I have seen but do not have.If so it is a nice childrens book with good illustrations EXCEPT for showing the hose in blower when the story is using the vac for suction.

Oh, so she's not a collector or user! Funny!

It looks like an amalgamation of an Electrolux XXX and a Filtex Model 19. Pretty fascinating. I wouldn't think design copyrights would still be valid on vacuums so old, but never know I guess.

Here's a cute animated sales presentation of the book.

Charles,

Thanks for the preview link along with your insights. I'm unfamiliar with Filtex cleaners and hadn't thought about illustration copyright infringements being a factor; both make sense.

I wonder how many children were puzzled at such a strange-looking vacuum cleaner, and how many grandparents caught the misplaced hose?!

Um, well, I didn't post any "insights." Just the link to the animated feature.
