Has anyone seen one of these before? I stumbled on a image of it when looking for another Dirt Devil product.

It looks identical to the hand vac plus except for the switch and XL branding.

Is this a real product or some sort of concept art maybe? Found zero info anywhere.

Colin,

I haven't, but if it did exist, then it is probably just as rare as another Dirt Devil brand hand vacuum: the model 501D Deluxe, which was essentially the antiquated Royal Prince metal hand vacuum with Dirt Devil branding.

Thanks for the reply Ben. Wasn't aware of that one either. Dirt Devil definitely has some pretty forgotten products. Some because they were bad (probably anything post TTI) but others were actually quality machines like the Ultra MVP.

Must be a limited edition version, or it could be that it was sold outside of the USA.

This looks like a European market Dirt Devil. Euro Dirt Devil hand vacs were always furnished in a deep metallic red color. Made it look more "high class" than the cheap red we got.

EDIT: I confirmed my own suspicions. This hand vac for sale in Birmingham England.

Also the "XL" on the vac looks like they swiped it from Oreck's logo

The big difference between the Dirt Devil hand vac and the Royal Prince 501, of which I have three, is the body of the Royal is made of metal, instead of plastic. The design was intended to complement that of the metal Royal uprights. I almost bought a Dirt Devil hand vac at a thrift store a while back, just to have a spare brush roll for my Royals. I probably should have, seeing as it was only $4 or $5.

Oh and one more thing I forgot. They called them the "Handy Zip" over there.
