Thanks for posting, shows me what the one I have is all missing and how it should look. Mine is from a mercantile distributor so it's got a totally different model plate than this one.

Have you cleaned it out and serviced it?

Its not his listing - this thing has been on marketplace for awhile but no one is close enough or dedicated enough to get it sadly

Like all of you I would love to buy it!

However, the seller doesn't offer shipping, and that is why no one has bought it yet. I would pay a pretty penny to have it shipped to me, but I am not sure if the seller would even be open to shipping it. I would make an offer of an extra $100 if he would ship it, but I don't have a Facebook account and I don't want to make one.

Have people in Iowa.
The classified app where I live will pick up and deliver items for you. It's by no means cheap but I'll look to find there name. You could look up concierge service.
If anyone has or knows someone with a platinum American express card it has a concierge service.

The last time I tried to have a Facebook seller ship an item, they took the money and never shipped it, then blocked me from communicating with them. It was those rare Panasonic vacs that were posted here last fall.

There are so many people anymore that are totally clueless on how to sell items, and as well of the fact that scammers are allowed to run rampant. Just got ripped off on another vacuum sale last week believe it or not.

bought 2 items to have shipped with PayPal. I had buyer protection and I got my money back.
I've bought a half dozen vacuums via Craigslist and haven't had an issue.
I tell them how to pack everything, I pay for shipping materials and a prepaid label sometimes. I try to accommodate them as much as possible but some people won't ship.

I do hope that the seller cleaned off that thing. Who knows what stuff could be on such an old machine? Asbestos, lead,or other stuff like that.

Going by the pics it would be trace amounts if anything. Nothing dangerous really unless you lick the likely lead painted handle lol

Actually acquired this model from a local seller near me. I believe it's a 1923. The lead paint I'd harmless and are great substitute for sprinkles on ice cream.

There is no danger in antique vacuum cleaners. There is however a danger in being overly paranoid of things.

These are fantastic old vacuums and it's rare to find one that is both complete and in such great shape.

Maybe I am being a bit paranoid, but I still think it's a good idea to maybe have it's a good idea to make sure none of those toxins are on it. Also lead isn't just dangerous if you injest it,I'm I think it also works in a similar to how asbestos can get into your body.

Paranoid.
There's no infomercials about owning a vacuum and dying of cancer. If your scared don't buy it.
