I've notice recently due to a few ebay postings that some of the SRX power nozzles don't have that blue foot release lever on the back of the nozzle. If anyone know what I'm talking about or knows anything about this can you explain what the reason was for this?

SRX Power Nozzle

Hi,

Rainbow did away with the troublesome latch mechanism on this nozzle about a year ago. They also made an upgrade kit that involves a new power nozzle cover and neck assembly for previous editions of the PN3 that operates exactly the same as the one on the E-2 Black. On a side note, the Rainbow heavy duty brush strip option for the brush roller and removing the ridges on the bottom plate rollers makes a world of difference in soil pick up for a vacuum that is infamous for being a little under powered.

Not that many people do talk about it. Then again we also have to realize that where in a "inflation crisis" and people probably won't be spending crazy money for a water vacuum. Me personally, got mines when it first came out and it seems really nice in terms of functionality. The only things I'm not crazy about is the basin size being smaller than previous units and the fact that the machine still gets warms in the same area that the recall issue happened. Makes me feel like I'm over working machine even though I live in a small 550 foot apartment that is all laminate flooring. I will say using the rainjet is a workout and time comsuming but it does do a good job. I just dont use it for said reason and its a bit of a sweat job too. The main thing that I like what rexair did recently was the new packaging for the machine and tools. I like how now the machine comes in its own box and the attachments, hose, and wands come in there own box too. I wish my SRX was packaged like that. Sadly mines came in the one box with the tools at the bottom, then the hose, wands and machine on top of it, which I wasn't all that crazy about. I do wish for future models that they keep the machine in its own separate box, and the hose, wands and attachments in there own box. To me it just seems easier that way. Question, does anyone know why rexair change it to that way in the first way? Also they should redesign the minijet accessory and make it motorized with a spinning type brush and or give us more brush options to use.

Actually I agree with you Miskini. The SRX was a disappointment when I first tried it out, I liked the E2 Black more. Not that the SRX is a bad machine because it really isn't, just it's not made like they used to be anymore in my opinion.

I never understood why they would put the belt back in the middle of the air path in the power nozzle. The had finally got it right with the previous generation in introducing a geared side-mounted belt. Of course they would have done even better to just have contracted Wessel-Werk to supply an EBK360 for them.

The SRX isn't just bad, It's ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS!! It has HORRIBLE cleaning performance, ABYSMAL build quality, and the fact that it's being sold for $2,600. The only good thing about the SRX is the fact it's still a GOOD water-filtration vacuum for people with allergies or asthma. Other than that, it's a massive scam.

I have always PRAISED Rainbow for years...I absolutely love my gold 2 speed I bought new in 2006... and it still looks as good as the day I got it..

I lusted after the blue model....then the Onyx model..but suffered through and just kept my gold 2 speed because it was serving me so well..but I haven't even considered lusting after the SRX...

I know Rexair spends lots on R&D but I have a theory...they didn't focus on actual cleaning but more on features to make the machine easier to use..like the built in dolly and general redesign of the appearance of the machine. Almost like actual effective cleaning was an afterthought. I could be totally wrong but why else would they make a PN like that? I didn't know they redesigned the PN again.. so it works better than the original?
