The belt for my powerhead broke - is 40201045 the correct replacement for the S3277-040?

And how do I open the power head to replace the belt? I took 2 screws out and it seems to want to open from the back side but only a little and I don't want to force things and break it.

That is the correct belt. You might want to call your local vac stores so you don't have to pay shipping from a website. The part number of the individual belt is 38528-011 and the package of two is 40201045.

Thank you

Thanks for the confirmation. I do plan to buy local to support a small business owner :)

I finally got the head open as well. There was a broken metal clip that fell out - I'm not sure where it went or what it did. I'm assuming it was to secure something in place and is not critical. I'll find out when I plug it in ;)

Post a pic of that clip.

Kenny,

24 in that exploded view looks like the piece called a "rib shoe" that I had to replace on my Hoover power head. I had a very hard time finding one!

I seem to remember a metal clip that supported the housing. Near the belt area. Some of my Quadraflexs have it while others do not. It could have fallen out on those too!

Looks more like part 16 in that diagram

Picture attached. The red arrow is pointing to where a small piece broke off of this part. About 1/4" of that end.

May have found the part

I think I identified the part - called a detent spring. I found a place to order one but can't really see in the diagram where it goes. (and what it does.)

part 16

This would match up with the rounded metal end on plastic elbo(part 8)to hold it upright. It may work OK as is but as above is 'not critical'.

Thank you

I can't see how it would fit there, so I'll just leave it out. I don't mind if it doesn't stand up.
