The 511 was produced from 1951-52. It was mostly similar to the previous 510 (1950-51) but during the year it had an improved front bearing plate assembly, which allowed the bearing itself to be replaced instead of the entire plate assembly.
The serial number on yours indicates it still had the previous version (with the non-replaceable bearing) dating back to the model 3C of 1940-41, but the newer style can be used too. ~Ben |
