I've decided to go the extra mile with my collection and completely reskin the D850-Amalgam.
Nowhere on the internet have I been able to find Kirby Sanitronic trim pieces in black; the unit has (presumably) recasts of existing trim in dark blue, so I know finding aftermarket Sanitronic trim in unusual colors is possible. Couple of useless questions that may or may not need answers: - Will Classic/Heritage wheels fit on a Sanitronic? - Will bleach do any damage to an aftermarket conversion bag other than stripping the dye? - Best way to remove the bolts(?) holding the headlight trim in place on a D50? - Is is possible to /dye/ existing trim? . Links to aftermarket whatevers are greatly appreciated, pictures can be supplied upon request. //This may not be completed on the D850 unit, if I manage to get my hands on a scrap D50, that is.// |

Wheels
Put a classic heritage axle on the front and the wheels will fit. The headlight is held on by rivets. Using a small screw driver and a blow dryer the trim will come of. Installing new painted trim, heat the trim in hot water and you can get it back on.. If you paint the trim use this it cleans and preps the trim. You let the trim dry maybe 5 minutes. Then SEM paint only and let it dry and it doesn't peel it stays on. I've painted black, grey, red and blue success every time. The SEM paint is in the store located at the top of the link for the primer url. SEM SEM38343 Aerosol Spray (Vinyl Prep - 13.3 oz Can) a.co/d/eLFLk7a... |
